After successfully completing the selection process to become a University Student Rep for the AOP, one undergraduate optometry student from each University takes up their role from around February for 12 months.
The Forum meets for a Spring weekend event in London and the Reps get involved in planning, contributing to and shaping the support and services offered to students by the AOP. They are also involved in planning the National Student ‘Eye Opener’ Conference, contributing to Facebook pages, student initiatives and collecting info and photos for Student News page in OT magazine. There is also potential for summer work/work experience in the AOP offices London.
There are a number of benefits offered exclusively to Student Reps, such as attendance at the Student Conference and other opportunities.
If you have something to say, a suggestion for the Student AOP or want an answer to a question please email studentrep@aop.org.uk or talk to your University Student Rep.
