Setting up in an optometric practice or partnership

The AOP has produced booklets to help anyone thinking of setting up in practice or entering into a partnership.

Starting an optometric practice is an essential guide to anyone thinking of starting their own practice.  Packed full of practical advice on how to buy a practice, what issues to consider, how to access finance, what regulations you should be aware of, how to register with the NHS - to mention just a few topics - it is an invaluable guide.

You can download "Starting an Optometric Practice" by clicking on the pdf document below.  Otherwise it is available by post from the AOP at a price of £5 to AOP members and £25 to non-members.  We will also e-mail the booklet.  If you would like to purchase a copy please send a cheque, made payable to the Association of Optometrists, to Tracy Symons at the AOP, 61 Southwark Street, London SE1 0HL or e-mail us at postbox@aop.org.uk

A Guide to Partnerships in Optometric Practice is a must for those looking at entering into an existing partnership or setting up a new partnership.  It covers matters which should be considered in a partnership agreement, e.g. what partners are bringing to and taking out of the partnership and what happens when a partner leaves the partnership.  The guide is available from the AOP at a price of £35.  If you wish to purcahse a copy please send a cheque, made payable to the Association of Optometrists, to Tracy Symons at the AOP, 61 Southwark Street, London SE1 0HL.
