EUROPEAN COMPUTER DRIVING LICENCE
The NHS has adopted the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) as the reference standard for NHS Staff in England. NHS employees can now obtain the ECDL internationaly recognised qualification at no cost to themselves. There are over 380 NHS ECDL centres with a pass rate of more than 88%.

MICROSOFT HOME USER PROGRAMME
The NHS is a partner in the Microsoft Home User Programme (HUP) which enables employees who use Microsoft Software at work to be able to have access to programs at home. Microsoft Office 2003 Professional Suite can be obtained for home use for about £17-00. To participate in the HUP you need an NHS e-mail address and a code to enter into a website. This can normally be obtained from your Trust IT department.
