There is a wide range of legislation and common law governing the sale of goods and the supply of services. Much of it is aimed at protecting the consumer but some of it covers dealings between businesses.
A Trader’s Guide: The Law Relating to the Supply of Goods and Services is available from the DTI, and is on its website.
The legislation in this area also covers price indications and misleading prices, i.e. how prices are advertised and displayed to consumers, and promotional offers. Information about this can be found on the DTI website.
