The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 (Statutory Instrument 2000 No. 2334) apply to contracts for goods or services to be supplied to a consumer where the contract is made exclusively by means of distance communication, that is any means used without the simultaneous physical presence of the consumer and the supplier. The Regulations, which can be seen under “Statutory Instruments” in the “Legislation” section of the OPSI’s website, apply to the sale of spectacles and contact lenses over the internet.
